It has been a long time, again. I am now back in Italy, currently in Venice closing up my apartment. I have made the decsion to move back to Washington DC, at least for the meantime. After everything that happened this Spring, I know it is not only the right choice, but the only choice. It has been difficult and sad, but I am also looking forward to a new adventure.
I was just in Puglia for several days, and before that Giuseppe and I were job hunting for him in Washington. It was very successful and he is now going to the Visa process to come to the States! We will starting working there in September.
In the meantime we are taking some time in Puglia, Venice, and the Amalfi coast to tie up some loose ends and relax after what has been a ridiculous 4 months.
I am feeling better and am looking forward to the Prossimo Passo!

So happy to see this post AND see you looking so well today! There are definitely great things in store for you, just you wait...and you will always have Venice and the Italian lifestyle in your heart. Nothing will ever change that!
Welcome back to DC! I'm not sure of a better person to ask this question, but I'm an american orthodontist who would LOVE to pick up and move to Italy (or any part of Western Europe). I speak French and have taken some Italian classes, but would never say I speak good Italian. Have you met any American medical specialists who have done what you've been doing for the past 7 years? Perhaps your partner (boyfriend?) since I've surmised he's got a medical background? Did you ever visit an american dentist in Italy?
Hope your move back to the US went well, and we'd love to hear how you fare in this new phase in your life.
